Obama Meets Fallen Soldiers

Very early Thursday President Obama left the the White House and went to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to meet the landing of a plane carrying the bodies of 18 fallen soldiers. He stood at attention with other soldiers as the fallen soldiers were carried off of the plane. Obama later said that it was a sobering reminder of the sacrifice the soldiers make and that the experience will influence his future decisions about troop levels in Afghanistan. Hearing about this surprised me. I never would have expected for Obama to participate in something like this. I gained a lot of respect for Obama. His participation showed me that he really cares about all of the losses that the War on Terror has caused. I now think that Obama really will try to significantly decrease the level of American interaction in the Middle East.
